Members of Team Perley Rideau participated in the 2020 VIRTUAL Ottawa Race Weekend and raised over $18,070 for the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund

Outstanding Support from the Royal Canadian Legion to meet the Priority Needs of Veterans.

Conquer COVID-19, a local group of physicians, business leaders, entrepreneurs and other volunteers, donated 17 boxes of PPE, including hand sanitizer, face shields and 27,000 surgical masks

STORIES FROM PERLEY RIDEAU

A Journey of Service: From Military Nursing to Supporting Perley Health

Perley Health Team member, Karen Reed, is participating in the Ottawa Race Weekend for her 4th year in a row! Born into an Army family, Karen's upbringing instilled a deep appreciation for the care of Veterans. After training as a Registered Nurse in Kingston, Ontario, she worked at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital before joining the Canadian Armed Forces. Her postings took her across Canada, from CFB Edmonton to CFS Gypsumville in Manitoba, where she gained invaluable nursing experience.

The Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre is one of Ontario’s largest and most innovative long-term care homes. Located on a 25-acre campus, it is a unique Seniors Village with 450 long-term care beds, 139 independent-living apartments, and a growing number of clinical, therapeutic and recreational services available on-site.
