Impact of Your Giving

A Moment of Heartfelt Gratitude and a Look Back at Your Extraordinary Generosity

As I look back on 2025, I keep returning to one simple feeling: gratitude. Your generosity has made such a meaningful difference for the seniors and Veterans who call Perley Health home. And I want you to know, I’ve felt your kindness every step of the way.

Because of you, residents received the comfort, safety, and compassionate care they deserve. Because of you, families had peace of mind knowing their loved ones were supported. And because of you, our teams had the tools and resources they needed to be their very best.

These aren’t small things. They’re life-changing. And they happen only because you choose to give.

Some of the moments in 2025 that stayed with me:

  • Breaking ground on the new Intergenerational Child Care Centre—an incredible step forward in creating meaningful connections between children and the residents we serve.
  • A resident smiling as they showed me the painting they created in the art studio.
  • A nurse sharing that new training helped her feel more confident and supported in her role.

Every one of these moments is tied to your generosity. Truly.

As we look ahead in 2026, I’m filled with energy and excitement. There is so much good we can create together. But before we step into what’s next, I hope you’ll take a moment to feel proud. You’ve been a steady, caring presence for our community this past year, and it matters more than I can say.

Thank you for being such an important part of the Perley Health family.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Delphine Haslé, CFRE
Executive Director & Chief Development Officer

Thank You For Revolutionizing Senior Care

Spotlight On Technology

Because of your generosity, Suzie, an advanced medical simulation tool was purchased allowing staff to practice real-life medical scenarios in a controlled environment. From assessing vital signs to responding to sudden changes in condition, Suzie is helping nursing staff build confidence and clinical judgment through repetition and immediate feedback.

You've given the nursing staff the tools to succeed, and residents the peace of mind that they're in safe, capable hands.

Spotlight On Priority Needs For Veterans

The incredible, ongoing support from Royal Canadian Legions and the Poppy Fund continue to help fund priority needs for Veterans at Perley Health. Thanks to their dedicated generosity, Veterans benefit from brand new specialized bath lifts, palliative care carts, physiotherapy equipment, accessible outdoor spaces, and more. These impactful purchases enhance safety, dignity, and comfort in daily living while supporting meaningful connections for Veterans and their families. Every gift ensures staff have the equipment they need to go above and beyond, creating a caring and inclusive environment for those who served our country.

The Impact of Your Generosity on Therapeutic Recreation and Creative Arts

Spotlight On The Art Studio

After a life-altering stroke, Larry needed help with nearly every part of daily life. But because of your incredible support of the creative arts studio, he learned to use his non-dominant hand to hold a paint brush and create art. Those same skills helped Larry regain independence with everyday tasks like brushing his teeth and using utensils. Art now brings him comfort, confidence, and connection.

Your generosity has made a real difference for Larry and his wife, Clay. Thank you for transforming lives.

Two years ago, the Perley launched a pilot project in partnership with Andrew Fleck Children’s Services, studying the effects of intergenerational programming on seniors and children. Ongoing research shows that this type of programming has positive effects on mood, cognitive function, and supports a renewed sense of purpose among seniors. It also builds confidence, empathy, and social awareness among children.

This important work reflects the impact of your support in advancing senior care and improving quality of life through connection.

The Impact of Your Caring Contributions On The Intergenerational Child Care Centre

Spotlight On Breaking New Ground In Senior Care

With your kind support, Perley Health broke ground in September 2025 for the new dementia-friendly Intergenerational Child Care Centre. Due to open in mid-2026, the Centre will welcome 49 children of staff members and from the community. At its heart is the Grand Friends Program, where seniors and Veterans will share their days, stories, and laughter with children through music, art, and play, creating joyful bonds that nurture empathy, belonging, and renewed purpose.

Spotlight On The Bridging Generations Campaign

Thanks to your compassionate support, 2026 will mark a milestone moment: the completion of the $2M Bridging Generations campaign and the grand opening of Perley Health's Intergenerational Child Care Centre. Because of you, children and seniors will connect daily in a specially designed space built just for them. Your gift is creating life-enriching moments—warm smiles, shared stories, and lasting bonds between young and old.

This unique initiative is a first-of-its-kind in Canada and will be a model for long-term care homes across the nation. Perley Health is proud to partner with Andrew Fleck Children’s Services, who will manage and staff the childcare component.
