You invested in specialized training and learning so staff can deliver exceptional care that best meets the changing needs of our Senior and Veteran populations.

Allaham Youth Volunteer Program ($5,000)
You supported the Summer Volunteer program for local youths.

Wound Care Training Program ($8,000) 
You supported specialized training to enhance the capacity and expertise of staff to provide treatment and comfort to residents experiencing pressure wounds.

Foot Care Program Set-up ($21,505)
You established an on-site food care program and reduced the need for caregivers, families and residents to travel elsewhere for foot and ankle care.


Equipment

  • You gave residents the ability to watch their favourite movies, shows and sporting events on crystal clear screens with 14 high-definition TVs ($450 each).
  • You provided safety and reduced harm for residents at greatest risk of falling out of bed with 16 Fall Mats ($350 each)
  • You limited the spread of infections and kept residents safe by acquiring a state-of-the-art Nocospray Disinfection Machine ($7,000).
  • You provided safe and comfortable showers with four powered shower chairs ($12,500 each).
  • You gave residents’ comfort during meals allowing them to breathe easier and reduce the risk of choking with 11 suction machines ($1,900 each).
  • You improved the quality of life for residents by allowing them to take part in specialized programs and meals with 76 Overbed Tables ($175 each).
  • You provide PSWs the ability to update charts faster while spending more individual time with residents with 35 Tablets and Cases ($575 each).
  • You provided a comfortable rest to residents by helping prevent and heal pressure injuries with new specialized mattresses and cushions ($21,425).
  • You helped to keep food warm and enhance the dining experience for seniors with 11 commercial grade steam tables ($4,500 each).
  • You provided families with comfort and reduce anxiety while staying with a loved one at end of life with four Sleeper Chairs ($4,000 each).
  • You enabled staff to easily monitor and read blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation with 4 vital sign machines ($3,500 each).
  • You provided residents with tilt-in-space positioning chairs for added comfort while taking part in programs and activities with one Broda chair ($5,500).

Outdoor Improvement

You increased outdoor space for resident socializing and events by adding a new, shaded structure outside the pub. ($25,000).
