Bringing Joy To Seniors and Veterans Through Creative Arts

gail_kel_cropped.jpgStaff artist, Kelly Eyamie (left) and resident Veteran, Gail Fugere (right) are extremely grateful for your support of creative arts programs and services at Perley Health. Thank you!

The holiday season is quickly approaching, and the air is filled with magic and possibility in Perley Health's Creative Arts Studio. As a staff artist here, I wish you could see the sparkle in residents' eyes as they are busy creating their works of art – many for the very first time in their lives.

Your support is the blank canvas on which Seniors and Veterans create these moments of joy. You are the reason these and other life-changing programs continue. Thank you!

Let me share a glimpse of the impact you make with your gift:

  • Gail, a Veteran, discovered painting for the first time at Perley. She says, "It feels like I'm achieving something. It's satisfying something deep within."
  • Bill, who hadn't painted in 20 years and was feeling depressed, has completed three beautiful paintings and shared how much it has improved his mental health.
  • Every week, residents line up outside the studio door, eager to participate – a sight that fills me with love and gratitude.

Your gift does so much more than fund art supplies or classes. It creates purpose, fosters connections, and brings light to a potentially lonely time for many residents in long-term care. Your support is vital in ensuring every Senior and Veteran at Perley Health continues to receive the specialized programming and person-centred care that enriches their lives.

Your generosity creates a better world for Seniors and Veterans who have given so much to our community.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Kelly Eyamie, Artist
Perley Health Creative Arts Studio Staff

P.S. If you would like to make a special holiday gift for a Senior or Veteran, please be sure to include a special Christmas message. It will mean the mean the world to them and let them know they are part of a caring community.
