Lt.-Gen. Lloyd Campbell (Ret'd)

Lieutenant-General Lloyd Campbell concluded a distinguished 37-year military career in 2003 as Commander of the Canadian Air Force. A former fighter pilot, he had previously commanded 1 Canadian Air Division and the Canadian NORAD Region (part of the bi-national North American Aerospace Defense Command); Canadian Forces Base Baden-Söllingen and 4 (Fighter) Wing in Germany; and 419 Tactical Fighter (Training) Squadron in Cold Lake, Alberta.
In addition to command appointments, General Campbell held numerous key staff positions in Canada and abroad. Within National Defence Headquarters, he served successively as J3 Operations; Director General Force Development; Director General Strategic Planning; and, for an interim period, Vice Chief of the Defence Staff. He also spent three years in NATO, serving as Assistant Chief of Staff (Plans and Policy) at Headquarters Allied Air Forces Central Europe.
General Campbell is a graduate of the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College as well as the National Defence College. He holds the degree of Commander in both the Canadian Order of Military Merit as well as the United States Legion of Merit.
From 2010 to 2016, General Campbell held the position of Honorary National President of the Air Force Association of Canada, a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting Canada's Air Force and aerospace capabilities across the nation. He also continues to serve as a volunteer member of the Board of the RCAF Heritage Fund, an independent organization designed to promote and preserve Canadian military aviation history and heritage.
General Campbell has been associated with Perley Health since 2013 and a member of the Board of Directors since 2017. In addition to the Board, he currently serves on four committees: Audit and Risk Management; Governance; Strategic Planning and Executive.
